Spirit Animal Series

This series focuses on the aspects of spirituality and healing through the representations of Spirit Animals. Each animal depicted highlights strengths, weaknesses, and personal characteristics.  I chose to focus on animals found and/or native to California!​

The medium is Prismacolor Colored Pencils and iridescent vinyl sticker, in multiple colors, hand-cut and added to each work. The vinyl is meant to add a participatory y effect where you see yourself in the animal, but the colors  and shine skew the image, leaving a barrier between the viewer and the spirit. I also feels it adds to showcase the unique properties of each animal and creates wonderment belonging to each animal.
